Horse hoof cracks

Hi this entry will be the start of something I trying to see that can work...

This pic is one of my clients horses with severe cracks. he cracks go`s right up to the hairline, so what is happening is from the hair line the crack is growing out to the toe, in this case we first have to get the crack treated and then shoe it with the bar shoe and let it start grow out from the hairline close to the toe.

So let me start to say in this case we have to first see to get steel or anything to clamp the hoof together as futured in Fig . If the farrier nows what he is doin he can also use the hoof nail method like nail stiching.

After shoeing the horse with this kind of shoe, Make sure that your nailes are plased aswell and that the clinches are done perfectly. It should look like this almost. (Depent on the farrier and the condition)

Ok lets keep track on the pick in fig.1 and see how the progression is going on.
